TRAVEL INFORMATION

If you are able to come, we would love for you to celebrate with us in Mexico!

We will be there for 6 days, 5 nights. You are welcome to come for ANY or ALL of that time (this is NOT our honeymoon). Again, this is your vacation, so do whatever works best for you.

We will be staying at the Live Aqua Cancun resort.

This is an all-inclusive resort, so all of your food and drink (And YES! A good liquor selection as well) is included in the price. Please understand that, while you’re obviously welcome to stay wherever you want, you cannot get onto the resort grounds without staying there. For this reason we would highly encourage you (for our own selfishness) to stay at the same resort, so that we are able to spend time with you!

Booking & Excursions

We would recommend using Expedia, Orbitz, or booking through the hotel, as we’ve found these three usually have the best prices. But please do your homework and look around! It may be the case that it’s cheaper to book flight and resort separately, especially if you have miles on another airline. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

We will be doing a handful of activities that will be listed on this site in the near future. You are welcome to join us on any of these activities. We would appreciate some advanced notice if you plan to join so that we can coordinate and make sure everyone can come.

If you haven’t yet, you can send your RSVP to Chris & JIll here:

Questions:

Is there anywhere to go off the resort? Or do we have to stay there the whole time?

Funny you should ask. There are a lot of places to go off the resort while you are in Cancun! There is actually a mall located directly across the street from Live Aqua. Feeling more adventurous? There is a bus line that takes you down the entire Hotel Zone in Cancun. You can try a restaurant off the resort, go to a nightclub or just get a feel for the city! The price of the bus should be less than $1 per ride, but you will need pesos. There are also multiple excursions offered from many companies or through the resort for anything from kayaking to parasailing to seeing Mayan ruins. Check back here for more information on the Excursions you can join us on!

Is driving in Cancun an option? Should I rent a car or take a shuttle?

Taking a shuttle or taxi from the airport to the resort and vice versa is probably the easiest option. Shuttles can be booked on Expedia or Orbitz at the same time you book the resort and airfare (reservations are required). Taxis are available outside of the airport terminal with no reservation required. Renting a car is also an option but unnecessary since most of your time will likely be spent on the resort; however, rental cars are available for reservation across the street from the resort (Hertz, Avis, etc.).

Is tipping at the Resort expected?

They do say that as an all-inclusive resort the tipping is included. We, however, do tip every now and again for great service. So it’s totally up to you!

Do I need a Passport?

YES! Get it now if you don’t have one!
